How to make MPEG2 from FCP HD 4.5??

Hi everyone,

I am trying to export MPEG2 from FCP HD 4.5 so that I can make a DVD with DVD Studio pro 3. How can I do this?? (I do not have compressor, ie it does not work.)

I have MAC OS X 10.4.9, FCP HD 4.5, Quicktime 7.0.4, on a powerbook g4.

Robert, you already asked this in another thread. Try not to double-post -- it just clogs up the forum, and it's a little annoying -- like you're bombarding people with the same question.

DVD Studio Pro doesn't need you to pre-convert your clips to MPEG-2 before you burn. Compressor gives you more control, but you can easily import a DV NTSC, Uncompressed SD and even a DVCPro HD file into DVD Studio Pro and work with it directly. DVD Studio Pro will do the necessary MPEG-2 conversion when you Build the disc.

from memory, the controls for setting the compression in DVDSP are in the preferences.
weird place for them IMO.
