Heelo, I'm trying to digitizing from a 1080i tape using a HDCAMSR deck. I set up my in and out points and then hit Clip capture and then after about 6 minutes I get a message and my recording stops. Has anybody encounter this and how did they get it to work.

HOLY LACK OF INFORMATION BATMAN!

We need a few details from you iffin you want us to help.

What did the message say?
What sort of drives are you capturing to?
What capture card do you have?
What are you exact capture settings?
What version of FCP? QT? MacOS?

My capture card is a AJA Kona card
My settings are 1080i 29.97
Device control is SOny VTR A 29.97
Capture drives are a Raid set
Using Final cut pro 6 with latest upgrade and best computer you can get. I just got the system last week.

The warning I get is "Tape Trouble. Check VTR. DO not attempt to eject tape or use transport without checking VTR first."

tks

What sort of RAID set? How many drives? Is it capable of...

Wait...that sounds like a deck issue. Can you just play the tape? Play the tape and see if the deck is working fine.

I have deck control and if I do a now capture I had the same problem. But I switch my device control to AJA Kona 23.98 and I seems to work with now capture. But I need to have a way to do batch capture and not have my machine stop in the middle of the capture.

<<<My capture card is a AJA Kona card >>>

Which one?

<<<The warning I get is "Tape Trouble. Check VTR. DO not attempt to eject tape or use transport without checking VTR first." >>>

Tape throwing a loop inside the transport? High Humidity will give you an error like this. Do many different tapes do this?
