Is there a way to capture or record directly onto macbook pro hd thru final cut pro, or thru log and capture window while shooting with Canon XL2.
If yes, how, please!

You didn't say which version of FCP you're using. You should be able to setting device control to non-controllable device. You should be aware that you will not get any timecode from the camera, at least that's the way it works in recent versions. I have tested capturing to a computer in the current version.

You may try [www.bigmugsoftware.com]. I've no experience with that app though I bought it (currently as my cams are abroad). But it looks very cool.

I use Vee Scope Live to capture and monitor directly from my GL2 for all the LAFCPUG meetings it works great. I believe it comes in with timecode as well. It doesn't exactly go straight into Final cut but you can just drag the files right in.
