I performed an experiment to figure out what setting to capture some DV footage. It was shot on a Canon HX A1 in DV mode and looks letterboxed in my camera/deck. I captured the same segment with both regular DV-NTSC & amamorphic DV-NTSC set-ups. Both clips look the same in the timeline. Which setting do I use? My delivery will be a 16:9 DVD.

> Both clips look the same in the timeline. That's not possible. I think you're missing a setting somewhere. Besides, it's not necessary to capture the clip twice. Read up on anamorphic 16:9 here: [www.lafcpug.org] > Which setting do I use? My delivery will be a 16:9 DVD. If you didn't shoot anamorphic 16:9, then you shouldn't make a 16:9 DVD because it would necessitate a blow-up of over 125 per cent on your footage. www.derekmok.com
> Hey Derek - did this ever get made into a FAQ or tutorial? It would be great in the FAQ - maybe

I just wrote it up in the FAQ -- feel free to look it over and make corrections or suggestions. Mike, is there any other place I can stick the screencap instructions? Also, they're a bit big, so I've put them in as links, not image URLs. What do you think? www.derekmok.com
