Multi Clips in 5.1.4.

I've noticed two things that are happening in a project I'm working in.
1) Multi-clips, when dropped into my timeline sometimes have an orange render bar and sometimes have a red render bar, depending on whether I'm in Safe or Unlimited RT.
2) Multi-clips, when dropped into my timeline have a dark green render bar and need not be rendered at all to play.

if both types of multi clips conform to the settings of the timeline, why would I need to render anything? Also, If both Orange and Dark Green Render bars allow you to play, what's the difference between the two? I've made my clips offline and redigitized and we still have the same thing happening.

Cheers,
I.C.

a multiclip is carrying 2 or more tracks of video.

it's as if you had 2 or more streams for video playing, like in small boxes, all lined up so you can see them all at the same time...
hey,
kinda like a MULTICLIP!!!

bet the orange ones have more clips in them than the green ones smiling smiley

nah, we only used an A Cam and a B Cam. so today, we're getting a real neat glitch with a multiclip. When we try and load it from browser to viewer, i get an "out of memory" error. but when i put it in the timeline and double click it to the viewer, it plays. now, technically, this is getting our multiclip to play but it's an assbackwards way of working for the editor.
i've taken those clips offline, redigitized them and still the same thing happens.

also, nick, i don't know if you were trying to be glib or cute or whatever but you came across looking like a real jack ass with your response. maybe you could ask shane, he'll probably have a solution rather than a sarcastic entry.

peace,
IC
