ok, i dont use the multiclip function in fcp5.1.4. what i do is place the 2 clips on the time line and cut away. the reason i do it this way is because i hardly ever have more than a 2 angle shoot and i sometimes take one of the cameras of the try pod to shoot b-roll footage. most of my shoot i try to not completely control the environment because some of the things that would naturally happen are great when captured.
i had a interview with a hair designer during business hour and at times he had to stop and take care of customers who had also agreed to speak on cam. so i had to use 1 cam to film the customers as they cam.
now on the time line i placed the 2 angle v1 & v2. v2 is where the cut to customer shots are. so i found my staring sync points and then began to cut until i reached the first cut away shot. found the in and out points of the cut away and separated it on v2.
now the question is this is it better for me to make this cut away an indy clip or should i just delete it and re cut it from the original? -- it is possible that i will pull 2-3 clips out of this newly created cut away clip.
