I am looking to capture something shot in 24p on a DVX100A using my Sony Handycam (Don't know the exact model, not in front of it at the moment), was wondering if I would have any problem doing the pulldown, or if there would be any loss capturing without the pulldown and then using a 30p timeline?

I have a dual 2 gig G5 with 512 ram, and am using FCP5

Thank You,

Sean Kearney

The DVX puts in the pulldown when it was recorded, it doesn;t matter where you capture from.

The only trouble I have had in this respect is a panasonic consumer camera (GS200?) would not read the timecode on the DVX100 shot tapes. No timecode would roll or change on the camera during play and FCP would not see any timecode. DV tapes from other cameras would be OK and the DVX tapes played back fine with timecode from the borrowed DVX.
