PRINT TO VIDEO PROBLEM, Please HELP

The particulars:

I am using fCP 6.0.1, I have a mac G5, dual 2.5 ghz, saving everything to my external hard drive which has 140.00 gb left and Panasonic DVX100a

THE PROBLEM:

I am trying to print to video. I set up the menu, I get the option to hit record on my camera, I hit record on camera however all that is recording is BLACK not the movie that's playing simultaneously on my monitor. What am I doing wrong? Can someone tell me? Please?

I am desperate since I have hand this in in about 2 hours

Forgive a bit of egg-sucking: You have selected Preferences > Audio/Video settings > Apple Firewire, haven't you?

And it's worth checking that View > External Video is set to 'All Frames'. For luck, you could try View > Refresh A/V Devices as well.

I have never recorded to that camera from a computer, but some cameras in vtr mode have settings that give you the option of sending the signal out when using as a playback deck or recording "in."

Hope you have figured this your problem already.
