Project will not open with FCS 2 same versionPosted by RobinKatz
I am unable to open projects on my MacBook Pro that were edited with FCS 2 vers. 6.02 on XSAN FCS. Both have the same version program and OSX. I originated the project on my MacBook Pro and am now not able to use it. I will be going on location for reshoots and need to be able to edit with old and new material on the MacBook Pro. Help! The application either just quits or crashes with this notice :

Thanks for the replies. I guess I thought maybe someone else had gotten the same report. Perhaps it was excessive. Anyway, I think I've found the culprit. A faulty jump drive was corrupting the files. I'm about to check it out with the big computer. I'll let you know the outcome. Best-Robin

Possible, but there could be a simpler explanation. If that jump drive (USB, I presume) was PC-formatted, then your project files may have lost their extension. A fairly common occurrence when you put an FCP project file through a PC medium or the internet. Add the .fcp extension back by hand and see if that works. Or, use only a Mac-formatted USB flash stick or FireWire drive for the transfer. www.derekmok.com
