No AAC in FCP, better off making AIFF file. Interesting new technique, saves you a CD:
? Open iMovie
? Import the track from the Media browser, add to the timeline
? Add a still frame or a piece of video to the timeline too. Can be
anything.
? Select File>Share then select Quicktime>Expert Settings. Choose to export 'Sound to AIFF' and select 44.1k 16-bit
This will export the track without having to go out to CD and re-import from there. You need to have video or a photo on the timeline otherwise the trick won't work, but since you're only exporting audio it doesn't matter what it is. Tested in iMovie '06, can't vouch for latest version...
