how to back up 5 ext HDs onto one 2TB drive?

I have a feature film project that I have been working on for the last 3.5 years. Right now it is spread over 5 external hard drives (two 400-firewire 250 GB Maxtors and three 800-firewire 500 GB Lacies). I want to make a second copy of the project onto one 2 TB drive. How is the best way to do this?

I tried copying each file on each drive to the 2 TB drive, however when I open the copy in FCP many of the files go off-line and the G5 seems unable to reconnect them even when I point it to the correct file... sound files seem to be recognized but stay off line and video files get an error message saying something along the lines of media ins and outs being different....

Each drive took 5 to 8 hours to copy and I fear FCP's media manager can not do a project that would take at least 35 hours...

Any advice?

Thanks!

The media manager is pretty good lately...FCP 5.1 and later. That is the route I'd go
