WAY OT: Why Sydney, and not LA?Posted by mark raudonis
Thats awesome Joe. Could we fit the lafcpug logo there rather than the red and white lafcpug sign or am I mucking with your creativity? Hmmmm....might look like a logo though and not a billboard. Never mind.
:-) Dont ask me about the Global Icon thing Corbett. Makes zero sense to me. Michael Horton -------------------
"wait why is it illegal to take a picture of a hill and then do the lafcpug like the hollywood sign?"
because lawyers with money behind them say so. there's a story i read about a guy called Rohan Rohur i think. in the '60s he had a bunch of prints of old silent movies. they were probably public domain, but because he showed his a lot he started acting like he owned them. he actualy started suing other people who also had copies and showed them. i think he may have won a case in some teritory, and that sort of created some precedent. so in the end he kind of did own them, although he never really did. in a way he was a creeep and a bully, but he was also partly responsible for re-introducing Buster Keaton to the public, which helped Keaton (who was starving in obscurity) no end. great work, Joey. i thought i was looking at the original pic Mike posted for a while. and i must say whoever did the original hill design did an excellent job. nick
So now we can be sued for things that remind lawyers of things they represent.
anywho, i think that joe has the ticket on this design. """ What you do with what you have, is more important than what you could do, with what you don't have." > > > Knowledge + Action = Wisdom - J. Corbett 1992 """"
Don't forget the lawyers.....though its funny, 6 of the 9 things on your list are on mine. No pink house, kingside bed or VHS (what decade did you go to LA????)
