Running FCP on a MB

Hi all,

Budget is an issue for my newly created production company.
So I know that a MBP would be best but could a MB do the job? Will I be frustrated with endless rendering time, slow performances or impossibility to do specific tasks?

I intend on cutting wedding videos, music videos, actors' reels.

I'm aware of screen resolution and graphic card differences.... but I would love to hear from you guys.

Thanks

It will work but Motion and Color will slow way down for you. Look for a refurbished Macbook Pro before purchasing a macbook though. Will ultimately make you happier.

I would rather spend a little extra $$$ on superior machine than languish in regret when the machine hangs on intensive tasks. Besides...you will pay for it in the first few gigs and you can write it off your taxes. I would go with a loaded Macbook Pro.

When life gives you dilemmas...make dilemmanade.

You may save a few hundred $$ in the beginning, but the slow render times and generally slower performance will start costing you in the end.
