Dumbest question of the day

How do you stop the timeline from automatically looping playback when it reaches the end?

I swear I've been through every setting and can't find a way to make the timeline play through once and stop!

...now DON'T SWEAR because you have NOT been through every setting. You missed the one in the Menu Bar/View/Loop Playback (uncheck it)

I was combing through 'user settings' and 'audio video settings' and right clicking on anything I could. It never once occurred to me to look under 'view'

Learn to use OPTION-H (Keyboard Layout - Customize). Not only can you assign commands to the keyboard there, but you can also enter any search term into a search engine. If you'd entered "Loop", chances are it would have given you "Loop Playback" as well as the shortcut for toggling it on or off (SHIFT-L).
