Can't Use Plugins

I was trying to install a plugin just to play with it - a freebie from stib as I recall.

Anyway - his instructions tell me to go to library\application support\final cut pro system support\plug-ins (or plugins I forget now) and simply paste his effects there. Then restart FCP.

All well and good, but I don't appear to have the 'FCP System Support' folder - I tried to create it myself but still nothing shows up and no errors.

I'm using FCP 5 with just a basic install, nothing fancy, no deviation from scripts, etc. This is teh first plugin I've tried to install as well.

Any ideas please?

Which Library are you using? There are two. You want the Main HD Library, not the User Library.

Many thanks - still learning my way round mac's. Been repairing them for years but not a regular user so don't know the subtleties of what should be where.

Having two Libraries is kinda confusing at times. It'll get ya with fonts at times, too.
