mpeg-1 format question

Hey guys. I have a client that is requesting their video to be delivered in mpeg-1 format on a CD. They show the video in some kind of presentation software that requires it to be mpeg 1. I don't know anythign about this format. How can i convert my 7 min. video to mpeg1 and keep the good quality? Thanks guys for any help.

This is the video CD format. I'm pretty sure there is a preset for it in Compressor.

thanks, tom. I saw that in compressor but it says mpeg1 dvd. when i used that preset it doesn't include the audio and it is a web video sized file 320x240 or whatever.

is that the wrong preset?

MPEG is a format that muxes audio and video. 320x240 is the correct size for MPEG-1. It has to be very heavily compressed to play back off a CD, which has a much lower throughput than DVD.

that makes sense.
I used the preset in compressor that says dvd mpeg1 and there is no audio when i play it back. should i use a different preset? sorry for the petty questions, i'm trying to learn different conversions. thanks, tom.

Have you burned it to a disc and are you playing it back from a device that plays back VCDs? Have you tried opening it in MPEG Streamclip to see if the audio can be demuxed?

Update: I realize you're using the wrong preset. Don't use a DVD preset. You're not making a DVD. Use the MPEG-1 preset in formats.
