Mixing Resolutions on same timeline or capture the same

Sorry if this is remedial, but we are using two different cameras on this show I'm working on (Varicam and Sony F900) and I'm not sure if they get captured at the same resolution and if not if we can mix resolutions on the same timeline, uprezing one of them later for broadcast? The idea is to use Apple Prores 422...

Capture both as ProRes...not HQ, that really gets you nothing other than larger files.
