rendering corrupts projectPosted by davko
Twice now I've rendered a finished project, only to experience major sound dropouts, scrambled audio, and shots completely out of sync (in the same places both times). In some instances, proper waveforms in the timeline arbitrarily go silent. Everything seemed fine prior to rendering. What's going on here?
IS YOUR AUDIO 48/16?
are the places where the drops happen near a cut? are you using audio from one angle and video from another angle? how many vtrks do you have? ( especially in the drop spots ) """ What you do with what you have, is more important than what you could do, with what you don't have." > > > Knowledge + Action = Wisdom - J. Corbett 1992 """"
They occur pretty arbitrarily; i.e., a section of dialogue corrupts against a single corresponding video, and a section of music just goes silent, in spite of being present in the timeline. Altogether, I'm running 4 video trks, but only using 3 & 4 once (for titling).
Could this be one of those occasions for trashing preferences?
Yes try that if it doesnt work then try to export the audio only as a qt movie (not qt conversion) and see if it exsist in that exprted file.
Also listen to the file for mix and EQ purposes making sure it generally matches what you have in fcp. If the file is ok then use that file for your audio. try exporting with compressor to a 48/16 .aif to see if that will plays well. if it does use it. do all of this without rendering SHOTS IN THE DARK: dump all render files and try to render. Copy all to a new sequence """ What you do with what you have, is more important than what you could do, with what you don't have." > > > Knowledge + Action = Wisdom - J. Corbett 1992 """"

very good point. It doesn't sound like corruption (corruption footages usually comes with a warning). It sounds like a sample mismatch issue. check your source and sequence audio sample rate settings. It should be 48khz BEFORE editing, and sequence should be set at 48khz. You could perform an audio mixdown (apple option r) to see if that helps. 12 tracks is fine on a 2ghz ppc G5. I always set mine to 12. (4 dialogue/ambience channels, 4 channels for sound fx and ambience, 4 music channels)
