Still Log & Transfer Issues with P2 clips over 10 minutes

Hi All:

I am sitting with a client. OSX 10.4.11, MBP 2.2GHz Core 2 Duo, FCP 6.02, QT 7.4.5. Any time we try to log and transfer P2 footage, all clips under 10 minutes long come in fine, all clips over 10 minutes fail to transfer. If we break up the over 10 minute clips into smaller than 10 minute chunks, they transfer fine.

I know that this is part of that stupid DRM issue that Apple has been having with QT, is there a fix yet? He has done clean installs of OS, FCP, QT and everything, yet the problem still persists.

Any fixes or solutions?

Dan

I don't have that issue...so I don't know what to say. How about removing and and all FX Plug plugins, as they and the Log and Transfer interface seem to share a few of the same system resources. This I learned from the Noise Industries issue interfering with P2 import.

Hi Shane:

Thanks for the suggestions. I discovered a few minutes ago that the drive he was using for Log & Transfer was formatted FAT 32. Reformatted it for OSX and now it's happy. Guess it was that stupid FAT 32 2 GB or 4GB per file limit? I hate PCs, they even give me issues when I am on Macs ;-)
