I'm trying to submit a job in compressor and am getting the message:
one or more tagets are incomplete
each target assigned to a job must have a setting and destination.

I have a setting and I have a destination.

what am I doing wrong?

Ah yes...this thing about Compressor 3 got me a few months ago at first and got another forum poster as well.

You have to drag the Destination icon to every individual entry, not just the whole block.

Pretty silly design, really.

I beg to differ. I prefer Compressor 3 over 2. There isn't a shortcut, which is a design flaw. My workaround, if i'm submitting similar jobs (eg mpeg 2 tracks for DVDs), is to duplicate the setting, tweak it in custom settings, select all clips, and drag it in. You can also select a bunch of clips and change the destination simultaneously.

Wow. That was ridiculously easy. Thanks!! But it does look a lot sleaker.

You can set "DeskTop" as the default destination in the Compressor Prefs. It will be applied automatically for you each time.
