Can someone idiot check me on full-screen playback?

Sheesh... most of my postings are some sort of idiot check, it seems.

Under my Audio/Video settings, I switched video playback to NTSC firewire device to send picture out to a camera. Then I switched it back to "Digital Cinema desktop preview - full screen", and now when I switch to full-screen mode, I just get the full screen still frame of the video I parked on, and rolling audio.

What gives? I've got a Mac Pro, 10.4.11, 2 23" cinema displays. Any thoughts?

Is your View > External Video set to 'All Frames'?

Are your canvas and viewer set to 'fit to window' or smaller? Select the canvas and hit shift z, then select the viewer and hit shift z to be sure.

All frames = On

Canvas & Viewer = fit to window, shift-z'd

Still the same result - frozen picture on my full screen display.

I know it's something dumb, 'cause that's my style, but still, this is really frustrating.

Just thinking... Are you playing a Multicam sequence?

Have you tried another DDCinema option?

Nope, not multi-cam. The reason I feel so daft is that it has worked flawlessly since I got my system running many months ago. The new element was the PD-150 connected via firewire (which - for another post entirely - was connected to a Slingbox and did a fantastic job of streaming an edit to my far away client in real time, no exporting, uploading, or downloading needed!).

So there's something small and petty in a menu somewhere that I'm missing... I'll attribute this fully to human error and not a system flaw. Is there any setting other than the "audio/video settings" menu that could effect this? Or cause the full-screen playback to pause on one frame.

Check Audio/Video Settings - A/V Devices - Mirror on Desktop. It needs to be on.
