J-H3 capture to DVCPRO HD via Firewire?

I'm about to rent a deck to pull in some materials that need to be assembled quickly for immediate playback for an audience. They are shooting using the Sony 900 and the tapes are HDCAM. Our project is DVCPRO HD because we did a ton of location shooting using that format and that's how our show will be finished. Can I use Firewire to capture the material at DVCPRO HD resolution? Or do I need an AJA card?

Can't do it via firewire. The only format that deck outputs via firewire is DV. If you want DVCPRO HD then you will need an AJA or Decklink card. I suggest the Kona 3, as it is the only one that will cross convert 1080i to 720p and vise versa.
