capture sync off in 16/9

i shot with a dvx100b set to 30p squeeze.

connected via firewire and open capture window. I already knew that there were large 1-2sec time breaks in the footage so i set it to non-controlled and captured. i watched the entire capture.

IT was in sync.

Now that the footage is captured, i opened the clip in the viewer and hit play to find about a 20f -1s offset between the video and the audio.

THING I NOTICE:
in the viewer the footage looks to be 4/3 instead of 16/9.

the TL is set to anamorphic and the canvas looks anamorphic but does not show in my monitor as such. It almost looks distorted to fit. ( i have other 16/9 clips from the same camera that does show the letter box in the monitor )


I am willing to delete and recapture the footage to get the sync cause i have had this happen before and i am sick of syncing audio.

WHAT CAN I DO TO ELIMINATE THIS OUT OF SYNC AUDIO?

AND the sync is off by random values at ever dv start / stop.

What does the av file in the capture scratch do? does it effect timing?
