Plugin Fix

Does anyone remember the fix for getting FCP to recognize plugins that are in the plugin location in Application Support but NOT showing up in FCP. (Specifically Boris Continuum for FCP 5.1.4)

It came out a few years ago. You had to hold down a button while quitting FCP. Then hold down another while re-launching.... I forget. I just remember having this problem before and there was a fix.

(This problem came about when you installed new plugins or re-installed your FCP software)

Well I've done the caps on caps off fix 4 times. I've thrown out all of the cache preference files.
Started and restarted. Everything I can think of. Still no luck. None of the Boris 4.0 plugins appear in my effects bin in FCP 5.1.4 They used to be there.

Any other suggestions?

You might try this tip, that worked with me in the past: change the plugin suffix from .bundle into .plugin.
To do that copy the .bundle plugin to your desktop, make the change while on desktop (you might be asked the admin password), remove the original, copy back the .plugin from desktop to its location in the Plugins folder.
