CHV & Boris Plugins

I'm working in FCP 5.1.4. With Mac G5 Dual Core. I have just installed some new 3D plugins from CHV and Boris. (3D grid etc...) I've followed all of the instructions in the "FAQ" Wiki section regarding problems with these but I'm still having one problem.

Whenever I use one of the generators to build a 3D effect... when I try to render it...FCP crashes.

Oh and by the way, I'm using OS 10.4.11 and QT 7.2.0

Have you tried loading the template in to the viewer after you mmake your changes . THEN exporting directly from the viewer via qt export self contained ( not conversion ). AND THEN, reimport it and use that movie instead.

if it is a transition it wont work to my knowledge.
try not to make 3rd party filters your favorites. That will often crash FCP514.
Make sure that the capture scratch and the fcp app is not on the same drive.
reinstall the plug.

I tried that...and it still doesn't work. If I could just get the CHV plulgins to render in FCP...I'd be okay for this particular project.

Any other ideas?

Have you tried contacting Cristoph over at CHV. He is very responsive.

This could be the problem. I believe for 10.4.11 you have to use a newer version of QuickTime. Not sure how you got 7.2 in there. Normally if you try to install that version you get a message that says that version won't work with the OS.
