Everything Changes.... ProRes question

So the DP has weighed in on this project that I'm about to start that we are shoot 35mm and planning to capturing DVCPROHD 720p24. He feels that for later screening purposes, we should capture at ProRes 422 (not hq.) I was all set up for CalDigit FW800 drives, but now I'm concerned that I need eSata for ProRes. Or will FW800 drives be sufficient? Plus can someone tell me how much more space ProRes takes than DVCPROHD? The AJA calculator doesn't have a ProRes setting. Thanks for everyone's help!

I haven't done the math for 720p, but regular old ProRes 422 for 1080i averages around 145 Mbps. With overhead and stuff, figure something on the order of one and a half to two times the storage and bandwidth of DVCPRO HD for 1080i. The 720p numbers will probably be on the same scale.

I use a little tool called Bitrate Pro to calculate storage and such. It's free.
