CGM Text ... crappy?

I was trying to us the CGM DVE Text plugin to do my lower 3rds, and everything's coming out blurry and after rendering they inherit a drastic flicker. Changing the font, or size doesn't help.

Is it just the limitations of an outdated plugin?

It is certainly not out dated. Try moving the lower thirds a pixel or 2 and see if that makes a difference. Also what font you using?

Thanks. I've tried a many different fonts (Helvetica, Lucinda) and messed a bit with the controls.
I may not be following what you mean by moving it a pixel or 2 though?
Do you mean size?


The plugin itself is proving super useful to me formatting wise. I'm just creating a simple black box backdrop sized to the title, so it's nice to let this size it automatically depending on the length and size of the text.

Results just look very soft.

Move the entire lower third left or right a couple pixels or so. If it still flickers add the flicker filter
