Red Giant Instant HD filter for FCP 6??
December 02, 2008 10:30AM
Hi folks, I read about this in a thread - I think it was GraffixJoe - it spoke of converting DV to HD. I have a project using Apple Pro Res 422 HQ. I want to put in a few cut aways that were filmed as DV. Do I need the Red Giant filter or can I re size manually? The filter looks cool and worth the 50 quid but I need to do this now. Cheers again.. Phil UK

True...and it great & super fast for Progressive footage. If you had the Magic Bullet Suite, you would get Frames (deinterlacing / 24p conversion) & Instant HD in one package:

What FCP needs is Instant HD Advanced:

I worked on the BETA test team. We talked about this a while back and I did some tests. Go to this thread:

16 posts down, you will find links "Original Files" & "Instant HD Advanced Example" renders that I did.

Only issue is...it is for Intel After Effects CS3 / CS4 / 7 (Windows) only currently.

When life gives you dilemmas...make dilemmanade.
