This transition is based on the Ripple filter.
It progressively ripples the outgoing clip, fades into a rippling incoming clip. Demo clip on Vimeo Different settings produce very different effects: The column on the right shows different ripple settings on the incoming clip. Any ideas for another filter to turn into a transition? ___________________________________________________ Alexandre Gollner, Editor, Zone 2-North West, London alex4d on twitter, facebook, .wordpress.com + .com
an other great job !
since you are at it could find a way to do asymmetrical transition in Fcp like in Avid ? (not just starting/center/ending) At least a dissolve ? I know that you can always do the trick with different tracks and opacity... but what if you want non-additive dissolve ? --------------------------------- A Day late & a Dollar-short Productions
The core of the Cross Dissolve transition is this FXScript command
This blends the outgoing clip (src1) with the incoming clip (src2) and puts it on the timeline (dest) using the value that changes across the transition from 0 to 1 (ratio). Ratio is automatically generated by Final Cut as the transition progresses. I could add 9 inputs, such as 'Amount blended at 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90%' and use them in conjunction with some maths to modify the value of 'ratio' and change the command to
I'll see what I can do... ___________________________________________________ Alexandre Gollner, Editor, Zone 2-North West, London alex4d on twitter, facebook, .wordpress.com + .com
I'm working on the user interface first: a mode where you can see the relative intensity of the outgoing clip before you use controls to change the graph.
Here's what the graph looks like at the moment, as generated by the transition using FxScript: ___________________________________________________ Alexandre Gollner, Editor, Zone 2-North West, London alex4d on twitter, facebook, .wordpress.com + .com
