help with fcp4

i did everything , i can. i reinstalled fcp , and then i went to the apple menu for software upgrade. now instead of fcp4 , i have fcp hd. it's all a tragedy for me. i'm not able to practice since i bought my g4. still need help

You gotta be very careful with that, especially if you're working with the older versions of FCP/machines/OS.

I think FCP HD is another name for FCP 4.5. Was a marketing thing back then. Doesn't FCP work?

we need lots of details here. What version of FCP/QT/OS do you have installed? Also, what version of the G4 do you have?

i installed fcp4.5 which is now fcp hd. my computer is a power mac g4 mac os 10.4.11 dual processor with 1gb ddr sdram

What version of QT are you on? If I were you, I'll go back again, and maybe get tiger onto a much earlier version and go on a late version of QT 6. It's never a good idea to run an extremely modern OS/QT on a fairly old version of FCP/machine.
