Setting up Dual Apple LCD Displays

Hi,
I'm thinking of adding a second 20"LCD monitor(used) to my Power Mac G5 for editing in both FCP and After Effects plus Cinema 4D.
I was wondering if anyone has any advice. I have read both positive and negative results. My computer has been working just great so I get a little nervous whenever I make major changes.
Best , John

John,

I too run C4D on 3 dual monitor systems...and there are absolutely NO ISSUES. Adding a monitor is as simple as plugging it in & selecting the resolution & arrangement in the Displays Preferences. Not gonna hurt your machine (in my experience). You can even hot plug monitors on a Mac. I do it all the time...pulling my Dell 24" out of my PPC Quad & plugging it into my MBP all while powered up. Everything just works. God...I love Macs!

When life gives you dilemmas...make dilemmanade.

Yeah...there is ZERO issue with adding another monitor. It isn't like you are making any changes to the OS or anything...just plugging something in.

Dual monitors, IMHO, is a must for editing. One side for bins, another side for the workspace. When I am on a SINGLE monitor I feel claustrophobic.
