Mirror Matte???

Hi all.
We shot a gag with a prop on a black wire. I am now trying to mask the wire and am having difficulties making it look good. The prop is basically fixed to the lense of the camera so it stays in the same place all the time. Problem is the prop moves in and out of the available light so there is no constant in that regard. Is there a way to mirror a small section of the screen to conceal the wire?? The wire I need to hide is like an inch long at the bottom of the frame.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Jake

Duplicate the shot on top of itself. On the top layer, use a mask to isolate a part of the screen that fits the hole. Then use Motion to move the mask to the right position.

FCP is definitely not the best tool for this task.

I'll second that. After Effects comes with a free plug-in that was made just for this: CC Simple Wire Removal.
