Is it possible to remove logo/bug from footage?

Hello to all,

Is it possible to remove a logo/bug from the bottom right of the footage. It is letterboxed so if I crop and blow up the footage it will be too blurry.

We have permission to use it, but the record label does not have access to the footage without the bug.

I doubled the layer, cropped the 2nd layer and applied a gaussianblur to blur out the logo. The producer is not crazy about it.

Any suggestions?

Peace,
Lisha

Since you don't have the clean footage, your chances are slim. You could try to look for some other part of the footage with a similar texture, but it's a stretch.

Or, maybe you modify the logo enough to make it unrecognizable. For example, use the same colour as part of the logo and just turn the whole logo into that colour, or put gibberish inside. Might be less noticeable than a blur.

Post a still frame with the logo in it.

if its there, its there. if the whole frame wasnt in motion you MIGHT be able to clone the surrounding area over it - but im sure thats not the case..

best thing you can do is put something else over it.

Best thing you can do is post a still frame so we can look at it and make suggestions how to fix it correctly without guessing.

This tute may (or may not) help, depends on the footage:

or try some VirtualDub (PC based) tools:

You could also try this free filter Clone: it copies a selected area of the current frame over another area, similar to the clone tool in photoshop. You can also choose an earlier or a future frame to copy from within a certain range.
