'additional items found ' in log and capture

Sometimes when I try to capture footage I get this box showing: Additional items found.
If I continue half my files go offline.
It is only 5 clips with a total of 6 min.and it found 98 items
Now what ? will I add them ?

What are you capturing from and what is the capture method? (fw800, capture card?)

never-mind. are you batch capturing or using capture now?

Did you check the capture scratch to see what files were there?

This is a screen you get when you batch capture from logged footage. Why not try sorting the footage by TAPE and then choose BATCH CAPTURE tape by tape? Does the message still come up?

I have seen this, but forgot how I got around it. Been so long.

I tried to capture from tape,> set ins and outs >log > batch capture> than the dialoge shows up , but does not tell what those items are.
I stopped using capture now because everytime I did that, loads of files went off-line forever and ever...

I found a way around it:

I closed my project and opened a new one.
Captured it in the new project , no problem.
Than I copied it to the existing project , et voila!

It should not be like that should it?
But at least I can continue...

5% - 10% of the time.

This is not uncommon especially when lumped in with making a new seq to negate a problem. i have to make a new projects about 1 out of every 50 or so projects. New seq even more frequently.

its often the way to work with some things. ( intermediates, color space and so on. )

in your case it was a way of getting that footage.
