Strangely Out of Sync Audio

I have footage from my dvx100b that was recorded with the audio set to INTL (using the on camera built in mic). I figured that when recording this way the sound would be sync to what's being recorded.

But nooooooo, I am getting audio that is about 15f off. Its like it was recording the video but the sound wasn't making it to the tape at the same time. The tape plays fine.

Of course i will be doing a manual sync on it but since i have never seen this off sync problem before, I wanted to know how is that possible?
