Sony XDCam HD Final Cut Studio 1 (v5)

I imported media from an Sony EX3 at 23.98 Using FCP 6.03
The media then went to another post house on FCP 5.1
They say FCP 5.1 can't see it.
Is this an Intel issue or a version issue?

It's probably a version thing. The minimum version of Final Cut that can work with XDCAM media is 5.1.2, not 5.1. I'm fairly sure it's not an architecture thing; I've been told that XDCAM works fine on high-end G5s.

We got a G5 Dual 2gig running FCP 6.05 which deals only with XDCAM EX footage and it copes fine, even with using magic bullet, we didnt even try running xdcam footage on fcp 5.1.4 which was on the machine originally, we upgraded it and had no problems......

XDCAM EX (NOT HD) requires FCP 6.0.2 and up. Earlier versions don't have the codec.
