Audio from 50s 60s

Trying to create a video that looks as if it came from the late 50s early 60s. How would you create the voice of the actors to sound like something from Citizen Kane?

For the audio, Izotope's Vinyl is a free plugin that gives you lots of control over making something sound old and crappy. It was designed for music, to make it sound like it's being played on an old scratched record, but it might work just fine for your purposes.

yeah, i used it for an "old movie playing on tv" effect.
sounded pretty good.

our voice was also very good.
great voice actor, recorded well.

you may also want to add some compression to the voice BEFORE you send it thru the Izotope Vinyl filter.

oh, there's a slight catch with that plugin.

you have to enter the serial# while FCP is opening,
and until you enter it, FCP wont open.

so make sure you wait for them to mail you the serial number before you install it.

I am having trouble finding the plug in to launch it.

I downloaded the plugin did the whole "double click to install...Click agree to continue...your instal complete", thing. I waited and got the activation code. Now I can't find to plugin to put in the activaction code. I check the applications folder, found the folder to Izotope but it just has the read me doc and othe docs. Where do I go from here?

you start FCP.
thats what triggers the Izotope serial number window.
