using EX3 files in FCP 6

Hi there, got a problem importing Sony ex3 files, I downloads the driver (clip browser etc..) restarted but to no avail. I get a general error and the folder containing the clip does not import correctly. Not sure all what to do. Thanks Phil UK

Did you download the Drivers (if you're importing off the cards) and the Mac Log and Transfer utility from the Sony site? You need these for Log and Transfer to ingest the files.

ClipBrowser 2.6 or 2.5.1 if the former is not yet available.

How you import depends on whether you have MacBookPro with Express Slot, Desktop, Sony SxS card reader, SDHC adaptor workflow.

SxS driver 1.0.4 if using MBP w/Express Slot.

Always copy with ClipBrowser and CRC checking on.
Then use Sony XDCAM Transfer 2.10 to wrap to MOV
or if you download Sony Log & Transfer plugin you can use Log & Transfer in FCP.

Ideally you should have FCP 6.0.6 or 7.0.1 but 6.0.2 is the minimum but I think you need 6.0.3 to use the L&T plugin.

Sorry but without specific system and OS details I can't give a specific answer. You need to detail your workflow step by step for me to know where the problem might be.
