HD to SD
November 30, 2009 02:23PM
I am sure that the subject has been talked about before, but my FCP FAQ search didn't help...

I have to deliver a spot in SD.
The footage is HD (1280)
Should I edit in an HD timeline and then export in SD
or should I work in an SD timeline and add a Letter Box filter?

Edit in HD then do the downconversion later.

thanks.
Did some tests and the export looks good this way.
Just exported the HD spot to 720x486, checked the "Preserver Ratio with Wetterbox if Needed" box, and it looks good

It is actually a mistake, not a typo. smiling smiley

A typo happens when for example, you press the K key instead of the L key as they are next to each other. So ketterbox yes, wetterbox, no

Unless there is an odd keyboard out there!

Hey Nick,
Thanks for pointing that out, but Wetterbox is the delivery requirement.

(just seemed that the W vs. L, entertained a lot of people yesterday, so might as well start the day with a smile)
