video playback in canvas

My name is Marc and I am editing on a Imac PowerPC G5, with 2 GB DDR SDRAM, with a 1.8 Ghz processor. I'm using FCP HD 4.5 Academic version. The problem I am having is playback in the canvas. The video was converted from a DVD. It was converted to a Quicktime DV file in Toast Titanium. The video will play for about 2 seconds, then stops while the audio continues. I think it might be a memory problem, but the video plays back fine in the timeline.

Anyone have any suggestions?

What is the format of the clip? CMD 9
What is the format of the sequence? CMD Zero

Thanks for the help.... the clip is in a quicktime DV format. it was shot on a personal canon hd handy cam, then put on DVD (DVD-R), then converted into a quicktime DV file through Toast titanium.

The sequence is still in the timeline. It has not be exported or changed.
