using wireframe to reduce image

using wireframe to reduce image

I've reduced image size by using the wire frame. I put 47.5 as a size for each box so I can get four small boxes on the screen. I've done this technique before with 3 frames placed across the screen so it looks like a triptych.
However, I can't get rid of a thin (but noticeable and irritating) dark line at the top and bottom of my box screens. Fine if watching on a 20"t.v. but nightmare when projected. Is this because I've made the boxes too small? I've seen video's with a lot more boxes on one screen...and I need a solution now without having to re-do this from original image size again.
I'm using SD with PAL if that helps. Has anyone come across this or has a remedy?

Is it because the camera is not recording fully top to bottom? Try putting a couple of pixel crop on the top and bottom of each clip to see if it goes away.

Yup- a crop or a matte filter on top will fix this. Also always check with a over/under scan area monitor so you get no surprises later.

Dave you could create a matte with the 4 boxes for your video in photoshop, or given the fact your resizing anyway id just crop it - quick and easy fix with the same results!
