De-interlacing from FCP for Youtube

Exporting an FCP cut as an MP4 for Youtube doesn't seem tol allow me the de-interlace option within FCP, unlike the box I get in FCP for a Quicktime Movie. With Snow Leopard the newish QT10 doesn't seem to offer me the Quicktime Pro option I once had to de-interlace MP4s from here either. Am I doing something wrong? How do I de-interlace? Should I? Running FCP7 on Snow Leopard. Sometimes exporting HD, sometimes SD. Chris Rawlence

Do it with Compressor. Compressor does a surprisingly wonderful job of removing pulldown, if that's what you're dealing with. And while absolutely nothing will do a good job of turning truly interlaced material into progressive frames, Compressor does a better job than most on its "better" or "best" setting ? and it's free, since you already own it.

I've been using the settings found on this page:
I've created a droplet in Compressor and put it on my desktop. I just drop the SCQT file onto it and it turns out very nice looking files for upload.
