Unavailable Shortcut (?)

No urgency here - just bewildered

I use CMD-SHIFT-A alot to deselect all - suddenly it stopped working

did a quit and relaunch - no help
selecting the command from the edit menu works
checked key assignments - nothing's been changed
CMD-A works - so does CMD-SHIFT-N - so it's not the keyboard
tried shortcut in other projects - same thing

- anyone seen this behavior before? keyboard shortcuts just eff-ing off on some kind of holiday?

(latest update of FCP 7, BTW)

Go into Keyboard Layout and do a restore to default, then try again.

Ah! ...or shall I say DOH!

Had a screen capture program running in the background from earlier in the day. CMD-SHIFT-A is it's command to start recording - (even when it's in the BG)

Final Cut wasn't hearing the intercepted command

mystery solved.

I like my deselect "cmd -shift-A" transferred to just a single keystroke !
