i think you meant to write:
Highlight clip
Shift F
Down Arrow
Press RETURN,
etc.
or, if you are in the viewer, which i suspect is the case, it's a simple matter of:
Shift F,
Down Arrow,
Return,
etc.
as i said, i work in a timeline.
i mark up my selects with an in/out,
then:
Shift i (go to in)
copy paste (copies the in-to-out, and pastes it back in the timeline, effectively blading the selection)
enter (opens in viewer)
F12 (a Superimpose edit, which edits the selection into the tracks directly above itself.)
same as dragging the in-to-out to the next-higher track.
this is all done with a macro, using QuicKeys. there are other apps that do the same thing
when i've got a bunch of selects,
i lasso them all,
place the playhead at some point after the end of the timeline
and drag the selected portions up and back into the canvas "overwrite" window,
placing all the selects at the end of the timeline.
