FCP 6 Asking For My Serial Number?

After all this time, Final Cut 6 is asking for my serial number as if it's an unregistered program. I have the serial number so all is well, but I find it a bit odd. Has anyone else has experienced this or have any idea why it occurs? The only thing I can think of is that I installed a security update from Apple a few days ago, but I've rebooted FCP since then.

I have heard of FCP weirdness with this security release. Stay tuned.

This just happened to me a week or so ago.

I re-entered my serial number, and all has been well since.

Would like to know why, too, tho!

and haven't been asked for a number yet.

10.5.8 on two separate machines at home,
and the latest snow leopard on two machines at work.
