OK. Went with the Vance plan. I have an older Mac Pro which has an IDE superdrive. This means that there's a little more to installation. There is a SATA connector on the mother board under the fan housing. Not too much trouble to remove, however apple did a good job of hiding a screw under a lip on the fan housing by the heat sink for the processor. Not mentioned in the directions I downloaded. There's also a plastic cover plate on the front of the drawer that has to be removed by sliding it up. This plate hits the nifty opening on the front of the computer. All in all a fairly easy project.
