Minimum Clip Length

Minimum Clip Length

What's the rule of thumb as far as the length of a clip in a sequence. I have a clip that shows a great facial expression, but it's only a matter of a second long. This facial expression is only shown really well in this angle. Another angle shows it, but not as close up. Is it worth trying to use this or let it go? It may seem like a flash going off in a sort of way.

What's the rule of thumb if any? Or should I go with my gut and leave it out?

Slo-mo it. If it's too obvious, lose the shot.

Thanks Kevin. Unfortunately his facial expression is mainly him showing his teeth, kind of a scared look. Slow-mo really looks odd, but I'll keep playing with it.

Off topic - I got your book and sent you an email. Could you send me the updates? Thanks.

It could be due to the motion quality. Try getting the slow mo done in Compressor. (It feels really awkward typing that. C'mon Apple, AE has Timewarp!).
