1280x720 to 4:3 for broadcastPosted by J.Corbett
i have a 1280x720 50fps file that needs to be show on in broadcast as ntsc 720x480 29.97fps
my aspect is 16:9 but they broadcast in standard definition 4:3. They also want it in prores which it already is. What would be the best settings to use to convert or export this in? The fps is my bigger worry. Deadline is in 1.5 hrs. """ What you do with what you have, is more important than what you could do, with what you don't have." > > > Knowledge + Action = Wisdom - J. 1.5 hours? Not long. How long is the show? 30 min? Hour?
You'll have to run it through compressor, but in getting the frame rate conversion right, it will take longer than 1.5 hours...even if the low time of 22 min (for a 30 min show). Not even a capture card can do standards conversion. You can try the Nattress STANDARDS CONVERTER on a QT file that you export from FCP and then reimport. But then you need to render that, export again, and then take to compressor to get down to SD with crop. 15second spot.
i out put with qt conversion with these settings. it has 1 very slight gitter in about a 4-8 frame area buy i have to go with it in 20m. ![]() """ What you do with what you have, is more important than what you could do, with what you don't have." > > > Knowledge + Action = Wisdom - J. Export a SCQT movie, current settings. Slap on an NTSC Uncompressed, make sure frame rate is set to 29.97. Go to Frame controls. Set everything to "better" or "best". let it rip. shouldn't take too long.
Add: Go to geometry tab, select 720x480. For the letterbox, under padding, select "16:9, 1.78:1". ![]() www.strypesinpost.com
i got it in.
while i am on this export topic. When i did the compressor thing a strange thing happened. The sound seemed to be off by 2secs. The SCQT play as expected but after convert in compressor.... its out of sync. very odd.
