couple questions

Howdy..On 7.0.2. Two questions:

1) I am scrubbing (?) with JKL and there is no audio as I speed or slow down
2) I imported and .mp4 and everytime I move it..it needs to be rerendered..

Thoughts? Thanks,

1. Turn on audio scrubbing in the view menu.

2. Convert to a production format with an editing codec.

Stay away from mp4 or mp3s for that matter.
Apple only likes to play nice with its own codecs.

Specifically I-frame only codecs or codecs built for editing in FCP.

Ok thanks..I downloaded from archive.org and it was the only format available (mp4) , so with Tom W.'s advice I imported, rendered , exported as QT and then reimported...seems to be doing fine..

You could use Mpeg Streamclip to do the conversion for you too. Free and easy to download, with lots of options to suit your workflow. Chiefly because sometimes Mpegs will not bring sound into FCP unless they are converted beforehand.
