Out of Memory Error

Hello,

I keep getting "Out of Memory" when I render files containing stills or if a shot a filters on it. Also, I tried to create a Quickmovie file for my film and I also got "Out of Memory."

HOw big are the stills? If over 4000k on either width or height, then FCP won't work with them. FCP has a 4K limit. OK, SOMETIMES it works with them, but mostly no. SO resize all still images to under 4000x40000.

Some filters require beefy GFX cards, or more RAM than 4GB, so might not be possible on laptops. Especially with ProRes HQ material.

Also, save all the images as 8 bit tiff or tga in RGB.

What is the size of your FCP project file?

How much free disk space do you have - all connected drives?

And have any of the files been named with oddball punctuation, like / \ # : ; % ... ?

Use only _ underscore or - hyphens for highest compatibility.
